Today I'm sharing a really quick and easy family recipe - naan bread pizza! This recipe is perfect for a quick mid-week meal as you can have it on the table in just 15 minutes! It's a lovely simple recipe that's perfect for cooking with kids - younger children can mix and spread the sauce and scatter the toppings, and older children can help prepare the toppings too.

I made this recipe using reduced fat products from Tesco's own brand range which are great helpful little swaps to use in helping reduce fat in your family's diet. I chose to try the Reduced Fat Plain Naan and Lighter Mature Cheese in the place of the full fat versions I usually use for naan bread pizza, but I didn't mention it to my boys because I was curious to see if they'd notice.
Easy Naan Bread Pizza
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 pack Tesco Reduced Fat Plain Naan
- ½ red onion
- ¼ red pepper
- ¼ yellow pepper
- ½ 200g tin sweetcorn
- 75g Tesco Lighter Mature Cheese
Method:
Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4.
Start by making a simple tomato sauce for the pizza. In a small bowl, mix the tomato purée with 2 tablespoons of water and the Italian seasoning and stir until completely combined.
Prepare the toppings - peel and slice the onion, de-seed and slice the peppers, drain the sweetcorn and grate the cheese.
Place the naan breads on a pizza tray or oven tray with the flat bottom side up.
Divide the tomato sauce between the two naan breads and spread over to cover them.
Sprinkle over the vegetable toppings and finish with the grated cheese.
Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
Serve with a leafy salad or crunchy crudités on the side.
As mentioned above I made this recipe using helpful little swaps of reduced fat products from Tesco's own brand range. I was interested to see if my boys would notice any difference, but they enthusiastically enjoyed every bite without noticing a thing! We also made banana and custard ice lollies using Tesco Low Fat Custard, which were a massive hit with everyone! It's great to know that I can use healthier ingredients that are lower in salt, sugar and fat without compromising on taste and flavour.
Since 2016 Tesco have also reformulated a huge range of products, removing a lot of sugar, salt and saturated fat (8,000 tonnes of it, in fact), while making sure they still taste great.
