These funny face sweet fruit wraps make a great tasting snack, dessert, or even breakfast for kids. They're fun to make and eat and full of yummy fruity flavours for a delicious new spin on traditional tortilla wrap fillings!
This recipe is the first of three fun fruity recipes for kids that I've developed this summer in partnership with Honest® Kids. These are fun recipes that parents and children can create at home together - perfect ideas to brighten up the family summer picnic!
Each recipe has been inspired by the delicious fruits found in the Honest® Kids drinks, which are made from just organic fruit juices, water and natural flavourings.
Each of the three flavours in the Honest® Kids range (Appley Ever After, Berry Berry Good and Twisted Tropical Punch) contain no added sugar, are low in calories and are sweetened only with fruit juice, making them a great choice of drink to help keep kids refreshed this summer. They're also certified organic by the Soil Association, which means that all the ingredients have been grown and managed without manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers.
This fun fruit wrap recipe is quick and easy so great for kids to make themselves. Kids can customise their wraps to suit their tastes, filling them with whatever fruits they'd like, then get creative and use their imaginations to design and decorate them with funny faces. They are a great way to introduce new fruits and enjoy old favourites, all whilst getting hands on and having fun in the kitchen!
Funny Face Sweet Fruit Wraps
Ingredients:
- 1 organic wholemeal wrap
- 20g organic cream cheese
- ¼ small apple
- 20g mango
- 3 blackberries
- 6 grapes
- 1 clementine segment
Method:
Prepare the fruit; slice the apple and mango into sticks, cut the blackberries and grapes in half.
Decide which fruit you want to use to create your funny faces and set aside the fruit needed for decorating them.
Spread the cream cheese in an even layer over the whole wrap.
Place the rest of the fruit in a line down the centre of the wraps.
Fold the wrap in at the top and bottom.
Roll the wrap up tightly, spreading a little cheese on the edges of the wrap to help ‘glue’ it in place if needed.
Slice the rolled wrap in half with a sharp knife.
Decorate with the remaining fruit to turn each wrap half into a funny face.
Note: You can ‘glue’ the fruit face decorations in place with a little extra cream cheese if wanted.
