Serve up an extra fun breakfast for kids with these cute owl yogurt bowls. They're really easy to make from simple delicious ingredients and are sure to impress your little one!
This recipe is the third of three fun fruity recipes for kids that I've developed this summer in partnership with Honest® Kids. These are fun recipes that parents and children can create at home together - perfect ideas to brighten up the family summer picnic!
Each recipe has been inspired by the delicious fruits found in the Honest® Kids drinks, which are made from just organic fruit juices, water and natural flavourings.
Each of the three flavours in the Honest® Kids range (Appley Ever After, Berry Berry Good and Twisted Tropical Punch) contain no added sugar, are low in calories and are sweetened only with fruit juice, making them a great choice of drink to help keep kids refreshed this summer. They're also certified organic by the Soil Association, which means that all the ingredients have been grown and managed without manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers.
These fun owl yogurt bowls are full of fruity ingredients that would make a great breakfast, but they're fun and tasty enough for dessert too! Follow my step by step photos and instructions below to make the fun owl design, or let your imagination run wild and create your own designs from fruit - you could try making some different animals or a simple smiley face.
Owl Yogurt Bowl
Ingredients (serves 1):
- 150g organic natural yogurt
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
- ¼ small apple
- 1 red grape
- small handful organic cornflakes
Method:
Mix the yogurt with the honey (if using)
Spoon the yogurt into a small bowl (or multiple bowls if serving more than one), then smooth down the top with the back of the spoon.
Prepare the apple; cut two slices for the wings, use a small circle cutter to cut two circles of apple for the eyes and cut a triangle of apple for the beak.
Carefully place the apple shapes on top of the yogurt to form the owl. I started with the 2 circles for eyes.
Then added the apple slice wings.
Then finished with the triangle apple beak.
Cut the grape in half and place one half on top of each apple circle for the eyes.
Arrange the cornflakes between the apple wings to form the owl’s tummy feathers.
Serve immediately.
