Our Visit to an Organic Farm with Honest® Kids

Disclosure: This blog post was commissioned by Honest® Kids. I was compensated for my time and the cost of ingredients, however all opinions expressed in this post are my own. Throughout our visit to the farm, my children were always accompanied by an adult.

A few weeks ago the boys and I had a fantastic start to the school holidays with a visit to an organic farm courtesy of Honest® Kids. You may have seen from previous blog posts that I've been working with Honest® Kids this summer to develop some fun and delicious recipes for kids inspired by their yummy range of organic drinks and I was delighted to be asked to run a workshop at the farm too.

The workshop was all about having fun with food and a great opportunity for the kids attending to have a go at making and eating some of our new recipes themselves.

Whilst I was setting up and preparing for the workshop, my boys had a wonderful time touring the farm. They learnt about how organic fruit is grown on the farm, harvested some of the fruit themselves, and even had a chance to make their own apple juice.  They used the apples that they had picked to make the juice, in a real apple press!

The weather that day was at the peak of the heatwave but Honest® Kids kept us all well supplied with their delicious organic juices to try and plenty of lovely fresh organic fruit to snack on.

The boys even found time for a quick tractor ride or two!

Early afternoon came and it was time for our fun food workshop. During the workshop I demonstrated how to make Funny Face Sweet Fruit Wraps and Bug Oatcakes to the children, then it was their turn to have a go at making some fun food themselves!

They did a really great job, taking the basic ideas from my recipes and using their imaginations to create some brilliant fun food in their own style. I especially loved the blackberry mustache addition to the funny face wraps!
