These easy Sandwich Kebabs are a fun and healthy lunch box idea that kids will love!
It's day 2 of Sandwich Week here on the Eats Amazing blog and today's new sandwich idea is kid friendly mini sandwich kebabs!
Every day this week I'm bringing you a new quick and easy fun sandwich idea, all of which are perfect for popping in a bento box or lunch box ready for back to school.
I've made a quick tutorial video for these sandwiches to show you just how easy they are to create - why not let your kids have a go at making their own?
If you have any trouble loading the tutorial video, click here to watch it on YouTube, and don’t forget to subscribe to the Eats Amazing YouTube channel while you are there for lots more easy recipes, tutorials and fun food ideas!
Taking a few extra minutes to add a little fun to your child's lunch box can make the chore of packing lunches a little more enjoyable for you and of course it will bring a smile to your child's face when they open their lunch box at school!
These sandwich kebabs are perfect for packed lunches, bento boxes, snacks, party food or for just a fun lunch or tea at home. If eating at home, you could give your kids little bowls filled with each sandwich component and a handful of skewers to let them build their own before eating for even more fun!
Easy Mini Sandwich Kebabs
Ingredients:
- 1 slice white or brown bread
- 1 slice ham
- 1 ½ slices cheese
- ¼ cucumber
Equipment:
- Small sharp knife
- Bamboo or plastic skewers
Method:
Prepare all the ingredients: Slice the bread, ham, cucumber and cheese into squares approx 2cm across.
Thread the ingredients onto the skeewers, alternating between bread and fillings. If packing for a lunch box, make sure you have ham or cheese between the wet cucumber and dry bread to avoid it going soggy in transit.
You could also pack the components separately (try popping them in silicone muffin cups to divide them up) and add a few skewers so that your kids can build their own before eating!
I hope you like the sound of these fun sandwich kebabs, don't forget to come back tomorrow so you can find what new sandwich idea I have in store for you in my next Sandwich Week post!
