I think that pizza is one of the easiest convenience foods there is, the ultimate family friendly lazy meal idea! Ordering a takeaway pizza can be very expensive and unhealthy though, and shop bought pizzas aren't often much better either, so making homemade pizza is my favourite way to go.
Making homemade pizza dough from scratch is easier than you might think, but if you're pushed for time and energy, these five easy homemade pizza recipes each take less than five minutes to prepare - it can take longer than that to phone and order a takeaway! To show how quick and easy these pizza recipes are, I've made a video tutorial - in less than 4 minutes you can see how I made all five yummy pizza ideas. I've also written out the recipes below, so don't forget to bookmark or pin this post for whenever you're next in the mood for some delicious pizza!
You need three things for these easy homemade pizzas; some kind of bread, a simple tomato sauce and some cheese. There are so many different kinds of bread that work beautifully for pizza, so step away from the ready made pizza bases and check out the ideas below! My easy tomato sauce is made with tomato puree - a store cupboard staple that I always have on hand, and you can use almost any cheese that you have lying around in the fridge, my favourites for pizza are mozzarella, cheddar or goats cheese for the dairy free Mr Amazing. Toppings are also down to choice - I've suggested some of our favourite toppings below but you can use whichever toppings you prefer (or whatever you can find in the fridge!) for a delicious pizza tailored to you.
These pizzas are very budget friendly; they make a fantastic cheap meal, they're great for using up leftover breads, meat, cheese and veggies and are perfect for lunch boxes too, just let them cool then pop them straight into a lunch box for a tasty alternative to sandwiches. When eating at home I like to serve them up with sticks of carrot, cucumber, pepper and cherry tomatoes, with mayo or houmous on the side for dipping. They're great for cooking with kids too, even the smallest child can get involved in making their own pizzas and I find they're always much more likely to eat it if they've made it themselves!
