Looking back over my recent blog posts, I noticed that I haven't shared many bento lunches at all over the last few months, although I have been making them, of course, so I thought I'd start the year off with the quick New Year's bento that I made for Small Child when he went back to school this week. I was not at all ready for him to go back to school, as far as I'm concerned Christmas wasn't even over when he went back to school on the 4th January, but back to school he had to go, and another year of making school lunches began!
This lunch was very simple as I struggled to get going on the first morning of term, but he ate it all, that's the important thing! In this lunch (packed in our Yumbox Panino bento box), Small Child had an onion bagel, filled with ham and decorated with the numbers 2016, which I cut out from a slice of cheddar cheese using number cookie cutters. On the side he had raw yellow pepper and carrot sticks, with cream cheese to dip them in, and some red grapes, which I decorated with alphabet bento picks spelling out 'NEW YEAR'.
Here's to a great new year for you all filled with yummy lunches and other good things!
