For today's festive snacks post I'm sharing a simple fruit Christmas tree food art plate. I love playing with food to create simple food art and Small Baby is currently a bit obsessed with Christmas trees, so it seemed a good theme for a fun festive snack plate for him!
I was commissioned to create this plate of festive food art by Fresh Kids, who have made the most gorgeous digital advent calendar for this year, with a new piece of food art being revealed each day as part of their 'Festival of Good Foods'. I feel hugely honoured to be a part of this fun project along with some of my all time favourite food artists. My Christmas tree snack plate was the star of the show for the 7th December.
Christmas Tree Snack
Ingredients:
- 7 green grapes
- tbs pomegranate seed
- 1 date
- ¼ yellow pepper
- thick slice red pepper
Method:
Slice the grapes length-ways and place them cut-side down on the plate in a triangle shape.
Cut the date in half, remove the seed, then cut one of the halves into a rectangle shape to form the tree trunk.
Sprinkle pomegranate seeds evenly over the grapes.
Using a mini bento cutter, cut several tiny stars and one larger star from the yellow pepper and arrange on top of the grapes.
Cut a shape from the red pepper to make the pot and place on the plate under the date tree trunk.
Cut the remaining red and yellow pepper into small squares and rectangles and arrange on the plate to represent gifts.
Serve immediately, or carefully cover and stored in the fridge until needed.
