    Fun Food Tutorial: Easy Grape & Tomato Hearts

    I've got a really easy fun food idea to share with you today - grape and tomato hearts! These cute and healthy little hearts take just seconds to make and are perfect for popping in lunch boxes, party food, garnishing a special Valentines meal, or just serving up as a fun and healthy snack for kids. Thought they are perfect for Valentines Day, I use this simple trick all the year around for adding a little extra love to my childen's lunch boxes and meals.

    Easy grape and tomato hearts - cute and healthy valentines day food for kids - Eats Amazing UK

    Grape and Tomato Hearts

    Ingredients:

    • baby plum tomatoes
    • red seedless grapes
    • cocktail sticks, bento picks or bamboo skewers

    Method: 

    Wash and gently dry your tomatoes and grapes.

    With a sharp knife, cut a tomato in half on the diagonal. Flip one half of the tomato over and push the two cut edges together to form a heart.

    Use a cocktail stick or bento pick to pin the two halves together. Repeat with a grape.

    To make the skewers, repeat as above but thread onto bamboo skewers, alternating between tomatoes and grapes.

    Be sure to warn your children to remove the skewers before eating!
