Today I have a simple Christmas themed snack to share in the form of these frozen melon and grape pops. My boys are always asking for ice lollies, no matter what the weather is like outside, and as we've completely run out of our summer stash of frozen treats, I thought it would be fun to make some festive ice lollies for them to snack on.
Frozen Melon & Grape Pops
Ingredients:
- ½ melon
- red grapes
Method:
Start by lining a tray or plate with grease-proof paper or tinfoil (check that the tray can fit into your freezer first!).
Cut the melon into round slices. Using cookie cutters, cut out festive shapes from the melon, avoiding the seeds as much as possible. I used cutters from this plunger cutter set to cut out Christmas tree and bauble shapes.
Thread a grape onto a bamboo skewer, then one of the melon shapes, then another grape. Place on the lined tray and repeat until you've used all the melon shapes (I snapped my bamboo skewers in half when making these, as they were a bit too long for this project).
Place in the freezer for an hour or two until frosty and delicious!
You’ll find lots more festive food ideas for kids in the fun Christmas food section of the Eats Amazing blog, and ideas from all over the web on my Healthy Christmas Food Pinterest board – do pop over and give it a follow!
