Fun Harry Potter Party Food - Golden Snitch Oranges

Following on from the easy cheese owls I shared earlier this week, today I have another fun Harry Potter themed food idea to share with you - edible golden snitches!

Both of these fun food ideas were included in the special Harry Potter themed lunch that I made to celebrate World Book Day this week - I'll be sharing the lunch here on the blog soon as well, so look out for that too!

These yummy golden snitches are made from clementine oranges, so not only are they fun, they'd also make great healthy party food for a Harry Potter party!

They're quick and super easy to make, and I've even provided a free printable further down this post so you can print off the wings to make them yourself.

Edible Golden Snitches

Ingredients: 

• clementine oranges

Equipment:

• paper wings (see free printable below)
• cocktail sticks
• sticky tape

Method: 

First print out as many sheets of wings as you need (there are 7 pairs of wings on the printable sheet) on good quality paper or card. 

Cut the wings out with scissors. Time was quite short when I made these so I cut mine out fairly quickly and roughly and I think they look fine! 

Turn each pair of wings over, and stick a cocktail stick to the back of each one with a little sticky tape. Make sure you leave at least 1cm of the cocktail stick sticking out from the end for attaching to the oranges.

Push a wing into each side of an unpeeled clementine, securing them in place with the attached cocktail sticks.

Repeat until you have used all your wings.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Note: If making in advance for a party, I would recommend preparing the wings in advance and only attaching them to the oranges shortly before serving, to ensure that the oranges stay undamaged and fresh for as long as possible
