Healthy Easter Egg Breakfast Popsicles Recipe

Do you get a bit fed up of chocolate in the run up to Easter and wish you could feed the kids some healthier Easter treats? I know my boys eat far too much chocolate over Easter so this year I'm trying to come up with some fun healthier alternatives for Easter treats, starting with this delicious Easter egg breakfast popsicles recipe.

How to make fun and easy Easter Egg popsicles for a healthy Easter treat of breakfast

This super simple recipe is a great easy recipe for kids to make themselves, my two year old absolutely loved helping me to make these and was very proud indeed when the time came to taste test them, proudly declaring 'I made this!' several times to everyone present in the room at the time!

Getting kids involved in the kitchen is such a great way to build confidence, not to mention so many valuable life skills that will stay with them forever.

I made these in a fun Easter egg shaped silcone mould to keep them seasonal for this time of year, but you could use any shape mould or silicone muffin cups too, or if you prefer you can also make them up in an ice lolly mould instead.

Easter Egg Breakfast Popsicles Recipe

Ingredients (makes 6):

  • 500g yogurt*
  • handful granola
  • handful blueberries
  • handful raspberries

*I used three flavours of yogurt which gave these some really pretty colours, but you can use whatever flavour you prefer. For a really healthy treat, natural or Greek yogurt is perfect because it doesn't have any added sugar. Dairy free yogurt alternatives such as soya yogurt would also work for this recipe.

Equipment:

  • Egg shaped silicone mould or muffin cups
  • lollipop or cake pop sticks

Method:

Place a small dollop of yogurt into each egg in your silicone mould, filling each egg to about a third.  Push chunks of granola into the yoghurt, then add a few raspberries and blueberries to each egg too.

Place a lolly stick into each compartment, laying it down as flat as possible.

Fill each egg to the top with yogurt, making sure it covers all of the fruit and the lolly stick.

How to make Easter egg breakfast pops for kids - fun and healthy Easter treat idea

Place mould in the freezer and freeze for at least 2 hours or overnight, until the eggs are frozen through and solid.  Once frozen, pop out of the moulds, leave the popsicles on a plate at room temperature for a couple of minutes to soften a little then serve immediately.

Store any extra popsicles in an air tight container or bag in the freezer until ready to eat.

Easter Egg Breakfast Popsicles Recipe

These yummy frozen yogurt breakfast popsicles make a fun and easy healthy Easter dessert that kids will love.

      Hi there, I'm afraid I can't really answer that as it would depend on what type/brand of yoghurt you use and also what type of granola. You could use an app like MyFitnessPal to calculate it based on the brands that you use. You can use low fat or fat free yoghurt to make these if you are trying to keep your calories low. Hope that helps!

      It would depend on the yoghurt and fillings you use. The OP cakln not possibly know what brand if yoghurt granola etc that you use or the size of the mood that you use.

      Hi Nicole, it very much depends on the size of your silicone mould, but I made 6 from this recipe. It's very flexible though, you can make as few or many as you like, just vary the quantities to suit you needs.

    I recently tried to order a couple molds from your website and apparently you do not ship to Canada . Is there a reason you don't want to sell to Canadians

    Can I do these in a muffin tin? Couldn't find a silicone mold I have a mini muffin tin. I know it won't be egg shaped but still want to make them for tomorrow.

      Hi Lisa, you can use any mould, but you might have trouble getting them out of a metal tin - maybe try lining it with cupcake/muffin liners first? Failing that, if you make them in a metal tin you could dip the base of the tin into hot water to loosen them a little before popping them out.

    Does the granola soften up because of the yogurt? I've never really tried granola with my yogurt, it always just seemed weird. lol.

      Hi Anna, low fat greek yogurt will work just as well, I often use a fat free yogurt to make these. 🙂
