This lunch is one of my favourite of the 'Daddy Lunches' so far. I love the way he used the pitta scraps to make antennae - so inventive and resulting in zero waste, I wish I'd thought of it myself!
In this lunch Small Child had a couple of mini wholewheat pitta breads filled with organic houmous and ham slices and cut in half to make butterfly wings. Mr Amazing cut little holes in the 'wings' to decorate them using a mini bento circle cutter, then skewered the circle shaped pitta scraps on plastic cocktail sticks to make antennae. He finished the butterfly off with a raw peeled organic carrot 'body'. On the side he had mixed red and green grape 'kebabs' topped with a plastic toy centipede, and a portion of organic strawberry yoghurt topped with a strawberry half and rainbow sprinkles, served up in one of our favourite ladybird snack pots, which I was pleased to see fits beautifully in one of the smaller compartments of the EasyLunchboxes.
Once again Small Child clearly enjoyed his 'Daddy Lunch', as the box came home empty at the end of the school day.
