Today I'm sharing with you another 'Daddy Lunch' made by Mr Amazing. As he did such a good job with his week of lunches, I'm hoping to persuade him to continue to make the occasional lunch when Small Child goes back to school in September. With this in mind, I've created him his very own 'Daddy Makes Lunch' category for the website, which you can access using the tabs at the top of the website page. He doesn't know it yet, so fingers crossed he'll agree!
When we were preparing for baby's arrival, Small Child decided to put each of us in charge of a particular task relating to looking after the baby. Apparently I'm in charge of feeding him, Daddy is in charge of changing nappies (awesome!) and Small Child is charge of baby bathtime. He loves getting involved, checking the temperature of the bath water, helping to wash Baby and providing us with a towel at the critical moment. The day after Baby's first bath, Daddy made this bath themed lunch to celebrate Small Child's excellent help at bathtime.
In this lunch Small Child had a 'bath sponge' sandwich, (white bread filled with cheddar cheese and topped with a plastic rubber ducky cupcake pick), a small tub of organic houmous and mini fish cut from roast chicken breast, raw carrot and red pepper to dip in it. On the side he had 'fruity bubbles' (sliced strawberries and red grapes) and 'yoghurt shampoo' (organic blueberry yoghurt topped with polka-dot rainbow sprinkles).
Here's a picture of our gorgeous new baby boy at bathtime, I promise I won't fill the blog up with baby pictures, but I couldn't resist sharing this one, as it's arguably relevant to the post!
Small Child thoroughly enjoyed his bathtime lunch, and finished the whole thing; well done Daddy!
