When I was going through my photos to find my 14 favourite sandwiches of last year, I spotted a bento lunch that I had forgotten to post here on the blog - and I thought it was too cute not to share! The lunch was koala themed, inspired by the gorgeous CuteZCute Cuddle Palz cutter kit (available now from the Eats Amazing Shop for those of you in the UK!) and it went down very well with Small Child. As always, simple is best, and this lunch was deceptively quick and easy to prepare, thanks to the clever CuteZCute cutter design!
In this lunch, which was packed in our Yumbox Panino, Small Child had a ham sandwich, cut into a Koala shape using the Cuddle Palz cutter and placed on a couple of lettuce leaves. On the side I packed some raw carrot sticks, cucumber slices, which I cut into flower shapes, a fresh fig, cut into quarters and some red grapes. I added a cute koala pick to the fruit (a cute bonus that comes with the Cuddle Palz kit), some raisins topped with a little koala pick to the dip well, and finished the lunch off with a mini Babybel cheese, with a 'K for koala' cut into the wax to decorate.
Small Child loved his Koala lunch and ate the lot, even the lettuce!
