Autumn may well have set in with a vengeance this week, but I'm still clinging on to the last remnants of Summer when I can! This butterfly lunch had a very summery feel to it, and I think that the fact that my lawn is in serious need of a cut only added to the summer meadow feel of the photo I took of it!
In this lunch Small Child had ham sandwiches on my homemade bread, cut into butterfly shapes using cookie cutters and arranged over a row of peas in their pods. I added polka dot picks to the large butterfly to make antennae. On the side he had organic strawberry yoghurt, frozen into flower shapes in a silicone mould, and sliced strawberries in a silicone butterfly cup. I also popped a few green grapes around the silicone cup (under the butterfly wings).
Everything got eaten, and Small Child said he particularly enjoyed the peas, which he chose himself when we were food shopping.
