Following on from yesterday's Spider Macarons fun food tutorial, today I’m sharing the second of 4 fun Halloween macaron designs.

These easy Jack-O'-Lantern macarons are also really easy to make, and you can have a lot of fun playing around with different pumpkin face designs while you're making them!

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I got the inspiration for these  fun Halloween macarons when I spotted a mixed box of ready-made macarons in the supermarket this week, however if you'd prefer to make your own macarons, I've also shared links to some great macaron recipes further down this post.

If you're short on time or don't fancy making macarons from scratch though, my cheats trick of decorating shop-bought macarons works just as well!

    Halloween Jack-O'-Lantern Macarons

    Ingredients (makes 6):

    • 6 small orange coloured macarons
    • 2 chocolate matchmaker sticks (any flavour)
    • 1 black edible marker pen

    Method:

Split the macarons in half (be careful, they're delicate!) by sliding a thin knife between them to lift off the top.

Break or cut each chocolate matchmaker stick into 3 roughly equal pieces.

Press 1 of the stick pieces into the middle of each macaron to form the pumpkin stalks.

Pop the tops back on the macarons.

Using a black edible marker pen, draw a spooky Jack-O'-Lantern face on each macaron 'pumpkin'. Be careful to draw lightly so that you don't go through the delicate macaron crust.

Leave to dry for a minute or two, then place on a plate or platter to serve.
