Are you slightly dreading the inevitable pile of chocolate that Easter brings every year? Do you want a fun way to burn off some of that sugar-induced energy that the kids will be no doubt be bouncing off the walls with?

I've got just the thing for you to pull out of the hat come Easter Sunday, in the form of this fun energy burning Easter egg hunt!

It takes just minutes to set up - I've even created a free printable for you, all you need is a sheet of paper, a pair of scissors and some plastic fillable Easter eggs and you're good to go!

Energy Burning Easter Egg Hunt idea for kids with fun excercises - great alternative to chocolate

This Easter will be a rather out of the ordinary for us, as we have just bought our first house and will be renovating it over the next few weeks in preparation for moving in immediately after Easter.

Come Easter day, I'm pretty sure we'll either be sitting in a pile of boxes or be elbow deep in paint, so it's going to be a little tricky to celebrate in our usual style! With all the upheaval of moving to a new town, a new house and a new school, I'm determined to get some Easter fun in there somewhere, so I've already planned out several Easter egg hunts for the boys to take place over the next few weeks whenever we can fit them in!

Fun Energy Burning Easter Egg Hunt idea for kids with a free printable list of excercises - great alternative to chocolate

I'm sharing the first of them today, an Easter egg hunt with a difference - each egg will contain a simple exercise challenge to get the kids moving and burning off all of that chocolate!

All you need to do to set up this egg hunt is print off the list below, cut it into strips containing each mini exercise challenge, pop the challenges into plastic eggs and hide them around the house or garden, or even take them to the park, weather permitting!

Thank you so much for this idea! I love that the idea is simple and affordable to make. I was looking for engaging activities for the students to complete the week before Easter. I chose this one because of the gross motor skills that are used and the fact that they get moving. The students even suggested exercises to add to the game. It was an activity I will use again next year.
