Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids - Halloween edition

As I've mentioned several times recently, Small Child now needs to take a nut free snack for school each day as well as his lunch. I thought it might be useful for other people who need to pack snacks for kids if I shared what I've been packing for him, so this post contains 12 nut free healthy snack ideas for kids, and as this month's lunches have all had something of a Halloween theme, this is therefore the Halloween edition! Most of these ideas would work all year round though (minus the Halloween decorations!).

Quick and easy healthy snack ideas for kids with fun Halloween themed food for October - great for after school snacks from Eats Amazing UK

These snacks were all packed to be eaten at break time, but they would also work just as well for after school snack ideas to help keep them going until dinner time, or just for a quick snack to take with you when you're out and about. They are free from all nuts as Small Child attends a nut free school, and by chance, they are mostly vegetarian and dairy free too.

    Clockwise from top left:

    • Blueberries topped with a spider cupcake ring & mini apple rice cakes topped with a ghost pick
    • Raw carrot sticks and blueberries decorated with a bat cupcake pick
    • Cheese flavoured bread bites topped with a toy spider & mandarin orange 'pumpkin' decorated with a sharpie and leaf bento pick
    • green grapes and blueberries topped with an eyeball cupcake ring

Quick and easy healthy after school snack ideas for kids with a fun Halloween theme for October

    • Blueberries topped with an eyeball cupcake ring & plain popcorn topped with a spider cupcake ring
    • Bear yoyos (dried fruit strip) topped with a ghost pick
    • Pretzels topped with a spider cupcake ring and raisins topped with a spider web cupcake ring
    • Beef jerky strips and blueberries topped with a robot mummy cupcake ring

Quick and easy after school snack ideas for kids with a fun Halloween theme for October

    • Cucumber slices & homemade trail mix (mixed dried fruit, mixed seeds and dark chocolate chips) topped with eyeball cupcake rings
    • Cucumber slices topped with a monster robot cupcake ring & clementine orange decorated with a sharpie
    • Dried banana chips & a spider nut free energy ball (click for recipe)
    • Raw orange pepper strips & red grapes topped with a robot monster cupcake ring

Quick and easy healthy snack ideas for kids with a fun Halloween theme for October

Most of the Halloween decorations shown above are available from the Halloween section of the Eats Amazing Shop, where you can also find the Goodbyn snack boxes and Goodbyn dipper sets, which are the perfect size for holding a small snack. I've also shown some of the other snack boxes that I use regularly below.

I hope you've found a bit of inspiration for healthy kids snacks here!  What foods do you pack for snacks when you're out and about?
