Today I created three fun Star Wars themed food ideas in celebration of Star Wars Day (May the 4th be with you!) and I'm sharing instructions for making the Star Wars inspired fruit lightsabers in this post. These are a really quick and easy edible craft for kids and they make a great healthy snack! They're also perfect for popping in lunch boxes and for serving up as healthy party food for a Star Wars themed party. You can see all three fun Star Wars food ideas over in my Star Wars Inspired Snack Ideas post along with a video tutorial for them all.
Fruit Lightsabers
Ingredients:
- Raspberries
- Red & green grapes
Equipment:
- Bamboo skewers
- Tinfoil
Method:
Take a sheet of tin-foil and cut into strips, about 5cm wide.
Tightly wrap a tin-foil strip around one end of a bamboo skewer to form the lightsaber handle.
Push one type of fruit onto each skewer to make different coloured lightsabers.
Serve immediately or store in a air-tight container in the fridge until ready to serve.
Notes: Please be aware that grapes can be a choking hazard and should be cut in half before serving to younger children.
Other fruits that work well for this recipe include small strawberries and blueberries.

Love this! Such a simple idea. Star Wars theme days are always really popular at our home education group so I will be adding this next time we have one.

Thank you! We love quick and easy, just as well as these have been requested a LOT by my boys over the last few weeks! I hope they go down well!
