The Eats Amazing blog is all about having fun and getting creative with food, and fun food ideas don't come easier than this one for kiwi fruit dinosaur eggs! This fun little snack idea is quick and easy to achieve, and perfect for popping into a dinosaur themed lunch box, for a quick fun snack or for making in bulk for super easy healthy party food.
So much of our enjoyment of food, both as children and as adults, can come as much from the presentation of food as the recipe itself. Beautifully presented food is a joy to eat, and the same applies for children - make it look pretty or fun and they're much more likely to enjoy the experience! It takes less than a minute to create a dinosaur egg from a kiwi fruit (toy dinosaurs are optional!) and it can really help to encourage kids to give a (possibly unfamiliar) fruit a try.

Kiwi Fruit Dinosaur Eggs
Ingredients & equipment:
- 1 kiwi fruit
- 1 small sharp paring knife
- toy dinosaurs (optional!)
Method:
Cut a zig zag shape all around the kiwi with the knife as shown in the video above. Make sure you push the knife right into the centre of the fruit with each cut, so that it will come apart easily.
When you have cut the zig zag all the way around, put the knife down and gently pull the two halves of the kiwi fruit apart. It should come straight apart, but you may need to go over the cuts a little deeper if it doesn’t come apart easily.
Serve up with a spoon to eat it and some toy dinosaurs to decorate if wanted.
