Today I'm sharing the first of 4 fun Halloween macaron designs. These spooky spider macarons are super easy to make and were such a hit with the kids! They're the perfect quick Halloween dessert and great for Halloween party food.

Inspiration struck for these fun Halloween macarons when I spotted a mixed box of ready-made macarons in the supermarket this week. Macarons can be really expensive, but these ones were just £2.99 for 12 (from Lidl, what a bargain!) so it's worth shopping around if you want to buy them to make in bulk for a party.

If you're a braver baker than I and fancy making your own, I've shared links to some lovely macaron recipes further down this post, but if you're short on time or don't fancy tackling tricky macarons, my cheats trick of decorating shop-bought macarons works just as well!

    Method:

Split the macarons in half (be careful, they're delicate!) by sliding a thin knife between them to lift off the top.

Break or cut each chocolate matchmaker stick into 4 roughly equal pieces.

Press 8 of the stick pieces into the middle of each macaron to form the spiders legs.

Once all the legs are in place, pop the tops back on the macarons.
