If you follow Eats Amazing over on Instagram, you may have seen that I have been working with Mini Babybel this summer, creating lots of fun recipes and tutorials that feature their brand new Babybel Mini Rolls.

This was an Instagram only project (I was commissioned to create photography and recipes especially to share on Instagram) but I enjoyed the project so much that I've decided to share some of my recipes here on the blog too, and took some extra photos of my favourite creations with that in mind.

So whilst this blog post is not an official 'ad', I was paid to create the original recipe, as recently shared on Instagram.

These fun celery bugs are definitely my favourite creation of the whole project, I hope you will love them as much as I do!

A quick safety note before I share the recipe - please be sure to check for allergies before serving peanut butter at a party. If you do need to avoid nuts, try substituting the peanut butter with a seed butter or cream cheese instead.

    Easy Celery Bugs

    Ingredients (makes 10):

    • 4 sticks celery
    • 2 Tbsp smooth peanut butter
    • 5 Babybel Mini Rolls
    • 10 pretzels
    • 20 candy eyeballs

    Method:

Cut the celery into 10 pieces, around 4-5cm long.

Cut a slice from the round side of each piece of celery, so that can they stand cut side down.

Fill each piece of celery with peanut butter, smoothing it down with the back of a knife.

    Unwrap the Babybel Mini Rolls.

Push a Babybel Mini Roll into a piece of peanut butter filled celery then add two candy eyeballs to turn it into a snail. Repeat with the remaining Babybel Mini Rolls.

Push 2 pretzels into a piece of peanut butter filled celery for butterfly wings, then add two candy eyeballs to finish. Repeat with the remaining pretzels.

    Serve immediately and enjoy!

Disclosure: I was commissioned to create a series of recipes featuring Babybel Mini Rolls to share on Instagram this summer but I enjoyed the project so much that I’ve also chosen to share some of my recipes here on the Eats Amazing blog.  I was gifted some Babybel Mini Rolls to use in my recipe development and photography and I was compensated for my time spent creating recipes and photos for this project, however all opinions expressed in this post are my own.
