Hovis® Good Inside®* Sandwich Thins are really great for both packed lunches and lunches at home, they make putting a tasty lunch together so quick and easy. I'm really enjoying creating these fun Sandwich Thins designs and I hope that you are enjoying them too!
Back to today's festive sandwich design - this easy Santa Sandwich Thin can be served up on a plate for a fun lunch at home (it's easy to make so would be great for kids Christmas party food too!) or packed in a lunch box for a delicious and fun Christmas themed lunch.
Santa Sandwich Thin
Ingredients:
- 1 Hovis® Soft White Good Inside®* Sandwich Thin
- butter or spread
- 1 slice of ham or filling of your choice
- 1 dried fruit strip
- 1 slice cheddar cheese
Method:
First split and fill your Sandwich Thin with a filling of your choice. I buttered mine and added a slice of ham to fill it. Sliced cheese or other sandwich meats such as roast beef or turkey would also work well for a neat and tidy sandwich!
Next, take your dried fruit strip and cut off two pieces that are each roughly 2 inches longer than the Sandwich Thin is wide.
Lay the two strips together on top of the Sandwich Thin to form a belt and tuck the ends inside the sandwich.
Using a mini cutter, cut two circles from the remaining fruit strip and place them on the Sandwich Thin above the 'belt' to form two buttons.
Next, cut a small rectangle from the slice of cheddar cheese. This will be to form the buckle on the belt, so size it accordingly. Cut a smaller rectangle inside this piece of cheese and remove, then place the rectangle in the middle of the dried fruit strip to make Santa's belt.
Below you’ll find my quick video tutorial for this fun sandwich and a matching lunch box idea too. Click here if you can’t see the video below for any reason, and don’t forget to follow theEats Amazing YouTube channel while you’re there for lots more fun food ideas!
When I packed the Santa sandwich in a lunch box, I also packed the following foods; raw red pepper strips and sugar snapped peas, strawberries and red grapes (cut lengthways to reduce the risk of choking). I decorated it with a fun Santa cupcake ring to finish.
