These fun reindeer snack bags would be great for a winter movie night in the run-up to Christmas – grab a blanket, some hot chocolate, some yummy reindeer snack bags and snuggle up on the sofa with your kids for a fun night in!
You could get the kids involved in making their own too - from choosing the ingredients to mixing them up together and turning the bags into reindeer, they're sure to love every minute of it!
Reindeer Snack Bags
Ingredients:
- 50g popcorn
- 2 handfuls pretzels
- handful mixed dried fruit
- large bag Maltesers (chocolate sweets)
- 1 cherry tomato per bag
Equipment:
- clear disposable piping bags or cone shaped cellophane bags
- ribbon or string
- brown, orange or red long pipe cleaners
- extra large googly eyes (smaller ones would also work)
- glue stick
Method:
Pour the popcorn, pretzel, dried fruit and Maltesers into a large bowl. Stir with your hands or a wooden spoon until well mixed.
Pop a cherry tomato into the bottom of one of the bags, pushing it down gently as far as it will go. If you don't like cherry tomatoes, you could use a large pink marshmallow or other red or pink sweet instead.
Fill the rest of the bag to three quarters full with the snack mixture, then tie the bag up with the string or ribbon.
Wrap a pipe cleaner around the bag for the antlers, then wrap the two loose ends around your finger to curl.
Finish by gluing two googly eyes to the bag, then repeat until you have as many bags as you need.
Note: I've shared the list of ingredients that I put into mine, but you could use any foods that you like, as long as they are 'dry' foods like crisps, nuts and sweets.
