    Violin Lunch & #FunFoodFriday

Today is Fun Food Friday, have you been making any fun food recently?  Whether it be lovely lunches, creative cakes, or a recipe you’ve blogged, please link up below and share the inspiration around.  Anything goes, as long as it’s edible!

Small Child started learning the violin this school year, and so far he is absolutely loving it.  The only problem we have is with making sure that he practices regularly, which is down mostly to my own disorganisation rather than unwillingness on his part.  One of my new year's resolutions was to make sure that we got into the good habit of getting him to practice as often as possible, and last week I created a quick reward chart for him to tick off as a way of encouraging him.  I was very happy that he managed to practice nearly every day this week, and made him a special violin lunch to keep his enthusiasm fresh!

In this lunch Small Child had a wholemeal pitta bread, toasted and cut into violin shapes with a cookie cutter. I added some rough detail to the violins with an edible marker pen, and a small pot of organic houmous to spread on them.  On the side he had some mini sweetcorn slices (four, to make staves!), some carrot stars, a pot of organic vanilla yoghurt with mini star sprinkles, and some red and green grapes, decorated with music note food picks.

Small Child informed me that he asked his friends at the lunch table to guess what instrument he was eating.  One guessed guitar, but the other two correctly identified the violin, hurrah!

Now it’s your turn, what fun food have you been making recently?  Please link up your foodie posts below and share the inspiration around.   Do feel free to link up Instagram, Facebook or Twitter pictures if you don't have a blog of your own. Anything goes, as long as it’s edible!

A few quick requests before you link up; please visit some of the other blogs that have linked up and leave them a comment – we all love comments! If you are linking up from your blog, please grab the button below too, and put it either in your blog post or somewhere on your blog. Both old and new posts very welcome, and do feel free to link up several posts if you’d like.
