Good morning, and a very happy St Patrick's Day to you! Although we don't particularly celebrate St Patrick's Day in our house (despite several Irish family connections!), I thought that it was a good opportunity for a themed bento lunch anyway, so this morning I created a fun St Patrick's Day bento box for Small Child to take to school. I did keep it simple but included lots of green foods and some fun green bento accessories to decorate.
First I packed a simple shamrock sandwich, which I made by cutting out three heart shaped sandwiches using a heart cookie cutter and arranging them with a crust of bread to make the shamrock. I popped them onto a couple of green silicone bento dividers and added a fun plastic leprechaun hat and a gold chocolate coin to decorate. On the side I packed raw sugar snap peas (under the cucumber) and cucumber slices in a green lettuce silicone cup, and green grapes in a green flower silicone cup decorated with shamrock leaf bento picks. I finished the lunch off with a green apple bear yoyo (dried fruit strip) on top of a small handful of raisins. This lunch was packed in our Yumbox Panino.
I hope Small Child enjoys his St Patrick's Day Bento! Do you celebrate St Patrick's Day?
