First day of School Bento Lunch

Small Child went back to school yesterday, and I'm very sad that our summer holidays are over.  I didn't feel at all ready for school this year, maybe because we took our family holiday right at the end of August, so his first day of school lunch was thrown together in rather a rush, as we tried to find school essentials like book bags and PE kits that had somehow vanished into thin air over the six week break! Small Child wanted to use his new Monbento lunch box and insisted on helping to make and decorate his own lunch, so this one was a joint effort!

In this lunch, Small Child had a plain bagel, split and filled with cream cheese and German sausage slices. Small Child decorated it with alphabet bento picks spelling out 'SCHOOL' and a star student cupcake pick (obviously feeling confident at the start of the school year!).  On the side he had alphabet cucumber and carrot slices, made using our mini alphabet cutters (see our recent back to school bento lunch for step by step photos and instructions for making these), and some sliced strawberries, which he decorated with a fun blackboard cupcake pick and a green crayon cupcake pick.

Small Child ate everything, so he must have enjoyed it! He carried this lunch in his new Bibetta lunch bag, and I also packed him some water in his Goodbyn water bottle.

Your lunch box contents looks amazing, when I was young it was a sandwich, space raiders and a chocolate bar! Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I wonder if you can still get space raiders?! The pickled onion ones were amazing!
