Continuing our Easter Lunches, today's lunch was themed around the Easter bunny. We don't really believe in the Easter bunny in our house (I'm not having some fluffy creature getting the credit for the Easter eggs that I bought!) but bunny rabbits are a cute seasonal creature to celebrate, and Small Child loves them. If you were to ask him what he wants to be when he grows up, his current answer would be 'A rabbit keeper' (strange but true!).
In this lunch Small Child had some bunny shaped tortilla crisps (made with seeded tortilla wraps; a tutorial for making tortilla crisps can be found here), a 'chick' silicone cup with some organic houmous (I've been waiting to use these silicone cups all year!), a Babybel decorated with a butterfly cut from the wax, some carrot bunnies, cucumber chicks and a couple of small slices of my homemade barmbrack fruit cake decorated with some mini bunny picks (recipe for the barmbrack cake can be found here).
For dessert he had some mini frozen organic yoghurt Easter eggs, and an apple with a bunny carved into the skin. All cut parts of the apple were brushed with a little lemon juice to prevent browning. I even managed to find a little bunny spoon for him to eat his yoghurt with!
Hopefully Small Child enjoyed his bunny rabbit filled lunch!
