    Car Themed Lunch

This lunch had a 'car' theme, after Small Child requested that I use some traffic themed picks sent over to us from the US by the lovely Shannon at Molly's Lunchbox.  I once again packed a smaller lunch with a snack for after school - this 'format' seems to be working out well, especially now that the weather has warmed up, as we usually head to the park for a run around straight after school when it is sunny.

In this lunch Small Child had a mixture of wholemeal and white pitta bread, cut into car shapes and decorated with 'wheels' cut from German sausage slices.  He had a pot of organic houmous to dip them in.  On the side he had some organic raw carrot 'wheels' and some more German sausage slices, rolled up and skewered on polka-dot picks in traffic light colours.  I finished the lunch with the traffic picks to decorate.

I used some mini car shaped snack pots for his snack, filled with mini pretzels, organic yoghurt with grape wheels, and some organic mixed vine fruits with a few dark chocolate chips thrown in for a treat.

Small Child was very happy with his car themed food for the day!

Where did you find the car shaped snack pots? I'm going to have my first grandchild and its a boy so I would love to get those.

Hi, I found them at a food show here in the UK so I can't recommend a supplier, but they may be available on amazon or elsewhere. They're made by a company called RICE if that helps? Congratulations on your impending grandson!

Thanks very much for your kind comment, and for the invitation to link up - I've done so now and will try to be a bit prompter next week!
