    Car Themed Dippy Lunch

I made another batch of gorgeous carrot houmous (recipe here), so thought I'd use some of it in another 'dippy lunch' for Small Child, as he enjoyed it so much last time.  I spotted some traffic lights made from peppers on Pinterest the other day, and realised that for once I actually had all three colours of pepper required in the fridge, so I decided to go with a car theme for the lunch.

In his lunchbox Small Child had homemade carrot houmous in the inbuilt container (love this box!), topped with my attempt at a cucumber steering wheel.  I arranged little piles of pepper circles in colour order to make the traffic lights (I didn't bother to attach them to celery as the original poster did, as celery is about the only thing Small Child will not eat), then added carrot and cheese wheels, cucumber disks (more wheels?), mini poppy seed crackers (even more wheels?!), and some car shaped baked tortilla crisps (recipe for these can be found here).  I used some silicone dividers to help keep the 'wet' from the 'dry' foods, and to keep everything from moving around too much.

For dessert, he had some organic strawberry yoghurt in a car shaped container, a couple of dried apricots, some sesame snaps, and a sliced plum in a square silicone cup.

I was pleased with this fairly 'boyish' lunch!

Thanks Diane, I'd highly recommend that recipe - really easy, only a few ingredients, and totally delicious!
