I've been slacking a bit in sharing my bento lunches recently, but I promise I've still been making them and some of them have even been quite fun! Today I'm sharing a bitey bagel bento lunch that I made for Small Child last week - we've been getting in the mood for Halloween and that's been reflected in the fun Halloween food that I've been making this month, including lots of Halloween lunch ideas that I'll be sharing here over the next few weeks.
I must admit that when I stepped back and looked at this lunch after I'd put it together it really made me laugh! Something about all the bitey little monsters really got me giggling, and the best bit about it was that it took less than 5 minutes to make. This really was an easy lunch to make, but it was no less effective for it and Small Child loved it!
In this lunch Small Child had a plain bagel, split and filled with roast beef and fresh spinach leaves, with some poking out of the top for hair. I decorated the bagel with a pair of toy fangs (found in the pound shop) which are usually used for dressing up, and a couple of eye bento picks. On the side he had a large chunk of cucumber and a kiwi fruit, both of which I cut in half with a zig-zag pattern and topped with more funny eye bento picks, and some cheddar cheese, which I cut into small cubes and finished with one more eye pick. This lunch was packed in our Yumbox Panino bento box.
I also packed a small snack to go with this lunch, as starting from this school year Small Child now needs a separate snack for break time. I threw a few green grapes and blueberries into a snack box and topped them with a fun eyeball cupcake ring to match the general monster theme - easy peasy and very quick!
Small Child absolutely loved this lunch, his favourite one by far from the recent lunches I have made him!
