    Alien Sandwich Lunch

Another creative effort by Small Child - this lunch was designed by him and I made it by following his very detailed and strict instructions!

In the lunch Small Child had a ham sandwich, cut into a circle and decorated as per my instructions as an alien.  The eyes were made from grape halves topped with polka-dot sprinkles, the nose from a circle of cucumber topped with another grape half and the mouth from a piece of cucumber. On the side he had raw carrot disks and blueberries, and half an apple decorated to look like an alien by carving an eye and mouth from the skin and using polka-dot picks.

I absolutely love it when Small Child gets involved in the making of his lunch - not only am I pleased that he has such an interest in his food, but he's pretty much guaranteed to eat all of his lunch up if he has had a hand in the making of it.
