Alice in Wonderland Book Bento Lunch

This week is one of my favourites in my blogging calendar – it’s time for our annual tradition of making a whole week of fun book themed lunches to celebrate World Book Day! You can see all of my fun book themed lunches from previous years here, we always have so much fun choosing books and working out how to theme the lunches on them! Today’s lunch was inspired by a reader requested who wanted some ideas for an Alice In Wonderland lunch – once I started thinking up some ideas I couldn’t resist making one myself!

In this lunch, I packed a white rabbit hard boiled egg (made using one of our egg moulds) which I popped into a jumbo silicone cup to hold it in place, pitta bread sandwiches, which I filled with ham and cream cheese, cut into rectangles and decorated to look like playing cards with edible marker pens (Small Child helped me with this), a mini orange pepper with sliced carrot topped with a Cheshire cat bento pick, red grapes topped with a blueberry and raspberry caterpillar, which I made by threading the fruit onto a plastic cocktail stick and adding a fun eye bento pick. I finished the lunch with some dried cranberries, a flamingo pick and a heart fork pick to decorate. This lunch was packed in our Yumbox Panino bento box.

Other fun Alice in Wonderland ideas that I thought of but didn’t use this time included myboiled egg rabbits, strawberry roses, packing food into a plastic or silicone tea cup (we havethese ones, so fun!), making a hat sandwich, and adding eat me labels to the food and a drink me label to his water bottle. I think I might need to make another Alice themed lunch some time soon!

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow to see what fun book themed lunch I have to share with you, and if you’re looking for more fun book themed food ideas, check out all of my past book themed lunches here!

I think this might be the best way to get the kids to eat veggies and such 🙂
