    Strawberry and Greek Yogurt Smoothie

As you may have noticed, I love a good homemade smoothie, and I've got a gorgeously simple and utterly delicious strawberry and Greek yogurt smoothie recipe to share with you today.

This smoothie recipe uses just a few easy to find ingredients and it's perfect to fuel active little ones (and adults too!) after exercise or a burst of activity.  The combination of Greek yogurt and milk provides protein to support muscles, the berries and honey supply quick acting carbohydrates to replenish glycogen stores and the fluid helps to rehydrate the body after sweating.

Talking of exercise, you may have noticed that the Rio Olympics have now begun! Inspired by the Olympics, National Lottery Good Causes have launched a fantastic new website The Food Champions which is full of brilliant recipes and nutritional tips for sporting success, as shared by top National Lottery funded athletes and former champions.

The full title of this recipe is 'Sophie's Sassy Strawberry and Greek Yogurt Smoothie' and it comes from Paralympian Sophie Thornhill. Sophie was born with oculocutaneous albinism and is visually impaired. After joining the Paralympic Development Programme in May 2013, Sophie immediately made her mark on the world stage, winning two world titles and breaking two world records at her debut Para-cycling world championships in April 2014.

You'll find the recipe in the video below, and I've also written it out in full further down this post. If you have any trouble loading the video, click here to watch it on YouTube, and don’t forget to subscribe to the Eats Amazing YouTube channel while you are there for lots more recipes, tutorials and fun food ideas!
