    Easy Halloween Dessert - Eyeball Teacakes Recipe

    This quick and easy cheats recipe for spooky eyeball teacakes takes just 5 minutes to make and is perfect for kids Halloween party food!

    Looking for quick and easy Halloween dessert ideas? These eyeball teacakes take just minutes to put together and they're sure to be a hit at any Halloween Party!

    I'm throwing my own Halloween party this year (I can't wait!) so I've been testing lots of fun ideas for spooky Halloween party food recently. I'm all about the minimum effort for maximum effect, and these super easy eyeball teacakes certainly fit that bill!

    When you're feeding a crowd, realistically, there isn't always time to bake a load of goodies from scratch, so a quick cheats recipe like this one is perfect for adding fun without too much time and effort.

    I spotted teacakes on offer in the supermarket recently and they seemed like the perfect treat for this idea, but you could make up the same chocolate button eyeballs and add them to any shop bought (or homemade!) treat - any cookies, cupcakes and other ready made treats would work just as well.

    Spooky Eyeball Teacakes

    Ingredients (makes 6):

    • 6 giant white chocolate buttons
    • red writing icing
    • 6 smarties
    • black writing icing
    • 6 teacakes

    Ingredients for eyeball teacakes - teacakes, giant white chocolate buttons, smarties and red and black writing icing

    Method: 

    Draw a star of wiggly lines for veins over one of the white chocolate buttons with the red writing icing.

    Add a smartie on top, sticking it in place with an extra dab of writing icing if needed, then draw a black dot for the pupil in the middle of the smartie.

    Repeat until you have 6 chocolate button eyeballs.

    Unwrap the teacakes, then stick a chocolate button eyeball to the top of each teacake with a bit more of the writing icing.

    Serve on a plate or platter and enjoy!
