Today I have a very simple food art plate to share with you - this fun snowman snack was thoroughly enjoyed by my three year old recently. It was really quick (and fun!) to put together and he loved having a little picture to devour - it didn't last long once he got his hands on it!

It’s day seven of the Eats Amazing Fun Food Advent Calendar, which means I've survived a whole week of daily blog posts, phew!  Every day from now until Christmas I’m sharing a new festive food idea and I’m announcing them all over on the new Advent Calendar page, so do click on the link, bookmark it and pop back each day to see what’s new!

Yesterday I shared a lovely baking project for mini Christmas cakes baked in tin cans, today it’s this rather more simple food art plate and tomorrow… you’ll have to come back and see in the morning to see what I have in store for you!

Snowman Snack Plate

Ingredients:

  • 2 mini Babybel cheeses
  • 2 pretzels
  • 1 dried apricot
  • black edible marker pen
  • handful plain popcorn
  • handful yogurt covered cranberries or raisins

Method:

Start by making the snowman. Peel the two Babybel cheeses. Using a mini circle cutter, cut a piece out of one of them so that it fits against the other for the head.

Break two pieces from the pretzels and press into the cheese as arms.

Add a face and buttons with a black edible marker pen, then cut a small triangle from the apricot for his nose.

Arrange the snowman on a plate, then add popcorn and yogurt covered cranberries around the edge of the plate to decorate.

Serve immediately.
