Today I have a super simple little snack to share with you - mini rice cake flowers! These cute little edible flower snacks are really fun to make and look so pretty on a party food table or just for a fun snack at home.

This easy recipe is a great one for kids to try themselves - older children can give the whole recipe a go from start to finish, or you can prepare the fruit toppings in advance for little ones and just let them decorate their own rice cakes.

How to make easy fruit flower topped rice cakes - fun healthy recipe for kids

Mini Rice Cake Flowers

Ingredients: 

  • 12 mini rice cakes
  • 2 Tbsp cream cheese
  • 3 large strawberries
  • 15 grapes
  • 6 blueberries

Method: 

Spread a little cream cheese over one side of each rice cake.

How to make rice cake flowers fun food tutorial - step one spread mini rice cakes with cream cheese

Slice the strawberries into rounds then cut into flower shapes using mini bento cutters.

Cut the grapes in half lengthways.

Place a blueberry in the centre of half of the mini rice cakes. Add 5 grape halves to each rice cake to form flower petals.

Top the remaining mini rice cakes with the strawberry flowers.

Serve immediately on a plate or platter.
