    Easy Snowman Smoothies Recipe

Today I have a fun Christmas smoothie recipe to share with you - deliciously healthy snowman smoothies! These simple smoothies were thoroughly enjoyed by my boys, especially with the added treat of squirty cream and sprinkles on top!

I hope to serve them up at a fun North Pole breakfast at some point over the festive season, and I know the boys will be very happy to have them again. They'd also be great outside the festive season for a fun winter themed treat kids will love!

The tasty banana smoothie recipe is really easy and quick to put together. There is a bit of preparation needed, as ideally the banana needs to be frozen (although this isn’t completely necessary – see notes below), but it takes just a minute to throw it together.

As well as bananas, I included oats in the recipe too, they add an extra healthy boost, make the milkshake lovely and thick and also help to keep the children (or adults!) feeling full and satisfied.

A sprinkle of coconut and dash of vanilla finishes off this delicious recipe nicely.

    Snowman Smoothies

    Ingredients:

    • 1 banana
    • 250ml milk
    • 50g Greek yogurt
    • 25g oats
    • 30g desiccated coconut
    • a few drops of vanilla extract
    • maple syrup or honey to taste

    To decorate (optional):

    • Squirty cream
    • snowflake sprinkles
    • clear plastic cups or glasses
    • black & orange marker pens (I used sharpies)

    Method:

First prepare the banana – peel and slice it into rounds, then lay them out on lined baking tray and freeze for a couple of hours or overnight*.

Before making the smoothie, prepare the cup or glass that you are serving it in by drawing on a fun snowman design with the marker pens.

To make the smoothie, add the milk, Greek yogurt, oats, desiccated coconut and vanilla extract to a blender. Remove the banana pieces from the freezer and add them to the blender too.

Whizz together until completely smooth, then taste and add a little maple syrup or honey to sweeten if needed.

Pour into the prepared cup or glass and, just before serving, top with squirty cream and snowflake sprinkles.

    Enjoy!

*NOTE: If you’re short on time you can skip freezing the banana, but the milkshake won’t be quite as thick or cold.
