Make winter and Christmas packed lunches for kids extra fun with this cute Snowman themed lunch, complete with easy snowman sandwich idea!
There was great excitement in our house this morning when Small Child came downstairs to find that his elf Christopher had been drawing snowflakes all over one of our windows.
Small Child was quick to check and assure me that Christopher had used a chalk marker, not a permanent sharpie as I had at first feared! Small Child then spent a happy 15 minutes drawing snowflakes on the rest of the window, and I decided that a wintery themed lunch was in order!
I made a simple snowman sandwich and packed it in our Polar Gear Bento Box - I thought the colour of it suited the theme perfectly!
In this lunch Small Child had a snowman sandwich (details below), filled with grated cheddar and a red silicone cup filled with chunks of leftover roast beef and topped with a snowman cupcake ring.
In the second tier of his bento box he had raw carrot sticks (snowman noses!)and mange tout, blueberries (snowman buttons!), topped with another snowman ring, a clementine, in a fun fruit shaped silicone cup and some mini twiglets (snowman arms!).
The snowman sandwich was really easy to put together - I used my nesting circle cutters to cut out two round sandwiches - one slightly smaller than the other, then cut a piece from the larger circle using the smaller cutter in order to fit the two sandwiches together.
I decorated the sandwich with a small piece of carrot for the nose and a Bear yoyo (dried fruit strip) which I cut into little strips for the scarf. I cut some tiny circles from the yoyo using a mini bento cutter to make the eyes and the buttons.
I packed the lunch in his lunch bag along with his polar animal themed ice packs - I thought they went nicely with this lunch!
I hope Small Child enjoyed his snowman lunch, he seemed really pleased with it when I was packing it up for him.
