Today I've got a simple panda bento lunch to share with you, packed in our favourite Yumbox bento box. As we draw near to the end of the school year (just 2 ½ days left for us, yippee!) I find I'm turning to our Classic Yumbox lunch box for lunches more and more because it makes packing lunch so easy - I can use up all the odds and ends left in the fridge and don't have to worry about the fact that I forgot to buy bread again because my brain is on it's last legs in the end of term madness!
The only 'fancy' thing in this lunch box was the panda hard boiled egg, which really didn't take much time or effort at all, despite appearances! This was made with our CuteZCute Animal Palz set, which can help you make mini pocket sandwiches and animal shaped hard boiled eggs in a matter of seconds! To make the panda egg, I just boiled an egg, peeled while still warm and popped it into the shaper. I left the egg to cool in a bowl of cold water while I made the rest of the lunch then popped it out of the mould and into a flower silicone cup in the lunch box just before leaving for the school run.
In the rest of the lunch box I packed leftover boiled new potatoes, a baby cucumber, raw red pepper rings, strawberries, blueberries and some natural yoghurt with a drizzle of honey. I decorated the lunch with panda bento picks, panda mini fork picks and a grass shaped silicone divider. I finished it off with a couple of Organix mini oaty bites in the treat well.
Small Child ate most of this lunch, leaving a bit of cucumber and pepper which he finished off as an after school snack.
