In the lull between Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas, I'm happy to be making some less seasonal lunches with a freer rein when it comes to the themes. I asked Small Child what he would like for lunch recently and he asked for a sandwich made with our new Lunch Punch Critter Cutters set, so I chose the cute elephant cutter and themed the rest of the Elephant bento lunch from there.
In this lunch Small Child had a ham sandwich on brown bread, cut into an elephant shape using a Lunch Punch sandwich cutter and decorated with homemade edible icing eyes. I placed the sandwich on some lettuce shaped silicone dividers to help hold it in place. On the side I packed cucumber and raw yellow pepper sticks, cubes of cheddar cheese, a clementine orange and red grapes. I decorated the lunch with elephant cupcake rings and a mini elephant bento fork. This lunch was packed in our blue Yumbox Panino bento box.
I also packed a snack with this lunch, keeping to the elephant theme with another cute little elephant bento pick. For his snack I packed raw carrot sticks and some chopped fresh strawberries, which I packed into a fun minion snack pot I found at our local supermarket.
Small Child enjoyed his elephant themed lunch and now wants me to make lunches themed on the other three cutters in the Lunch Punch Critter Cutters set!
