    Firework Themed Bento Lunches

Good morning! It's the fifth of November today in here in the UK that means bonfires and lots of fireworks, so Small Child's lunches this week have been fireworks themed! I've got several firework themed bento lunches to share with you today, including three different kinds of rocket sandwiches, which would all be great for bonfire night party food, fun space themed food and for other celebrations too.

The first lunch was packed in our Polar Gear bento box. In this lunch I packed a rocket shaped sandwich of ham on seeded bread, which I decorated with strips of ham and popped on a foil cocktail skewer to provide the flames. On the side I packed some sweetcorn, a Babybel cheese with a star cut from the wax to decorate, cucumber stars, blueberries and a clementine, which I peeled and carefully separated to make a firework. I used mini bento cutters to cut out the stars and colourful flower silicone cups to hold some of the food.

The second lunch was packed in our blue Yumbox Panino bento box. I used the same foil cocktail skewers to hold together these rockets, which were made by cutting a cheese and ham sandwich into squares and threading the squares onto the skewers. I topped the rockets with triangles of raw yellow pepper to finish them off. On the side I packed a chunk of cucumber, cut with a zig-zag pattern, blueberries, black grapes and raw carrot stars. I finished the lunch with a few mini marshmallows for a treat and a couple of cute space themed bento picks to decorate.

The next lunch also had some fun edible rockets, this time made with wholemeal tortilla wraps.  I filled the wrap with roast chicken salad, then tightly rolled it up (folding under the ends to hold the fillings in) and cut it in half. I then skewered each wrap half on a foil cocktail stick and topped them with triangles of raw red pepper. On the side I packed a Babybel cheese, decorated with a star cur from the wax, raw carrot disks, a baby cucumber, chunks of fresh pineapple and some blueberries.  This lunch was also packed in our blue Yumbox Panino bento box and decorated with cute space themed bento picks.

The last lunch was a very simple one using up various bits and pieces from the fridge and cupboard.  In this lunch I packed some Organix raspberry and blueberry rice cakes, chopped dragon fruit and blackberries, sweetcorn, a flower shaped silicone cup full of raw carrot disks, an Organix oaty bar, Babybel cheese and a sliced mini pepperoni sausage. I decorated this lunch with more foil cocktail sticks (trimmed down to size to fit in the box) and star bento picks. This lunch was packed in our Yellow Yumbox UK bento box.

I hope you have a great bonfire night and get to see some fantastic fireworks this evening!

Cute ideas! The star bento picks look great for children and motor planning items that may be harder to eat.

Thank you! I must admit I hadn't ever thought of bento picks quite like that but you are absolutely right! 🙂
