Ingredients
Ingredients:
Easy peeler or mandarin oranges
Equipment:
Small sharp knife
Non-toxic marker or food safe marker
Instructions
Take your first orange and turn it upside down so the little stalk is on the table. Using a small sharp knife, score a cut right across the orange. You should cut through the skin but not into the orange flesh.
Turn the orange slightly and repeat 4 times, until you have 4 thin triangles cut into each side of the orange, radiating out from the middle.
Gently pull all the 'legs' away from the middle on one side. Repeat on the other side until your orange has 8 legs. Flip the orange over and pull out the legs from under it to rest pointing away from the orange - it should now look something like an octopus.
Draw on a face with your marker to finish, then repeat until you have as many octopuses as you need!
Notes
Note: I used a non-toxic sharpie to draw on the octopus faces, as the skin will be discarded and not actually eaten. You can also use a food safe marker if you prefer.
