Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread
  • butter or spread
  • 1 slice of cheese or filling of your choice
  • 2 edible candy eyeballs
  • 2 lettuce leaves or handful of raw spinach leaves
  • baby corn & sugar snap peas
  • 1 kiwi fruit
  • small handful blueberries
  • dried apple rings

Instructions

  • First cut out your dinosaur sandwich using the Lunch Punch sandwich cutter. (As you can see in the video above, I like to cut the pieces separately as this gives a cleaner shape. If you’re having trouble getting a good imprint, try microwaving the bread for 3-5 seconds before cutting to soften. I also use a food pick with a rounded end to help pop the sandwich out of the cutter without breaking it. )
  • Once you’ve finished the sandwich, add two edible candy eyeballs to the dinosaur’s face, pressing them into the bread so that they stick in place.
  • Lay the lettuce or spinach leaves in the bottom of the largest compartment in your lunch box. Place the dinosaur sandwich on top.
  • Arrange the baby corn and sugar snap peas in one of the smaller lunch box compartments and decorate with a dinosaur cupcake ring if wanted.
  • Cut the kiwi fruit in half with a zig zag pattern all the way around then pull apart (see video for how to do this). Place one half in the other smaller lunch box compartment and fill in any gaps with blueberries.
  • Finish the lunch off a handful of dried fruit – I used a couple of dried apple rings.

Notes

Equipment:
Lunch Punch Dinosaur Sandwich Cutter; divided Bento Box (I used our Yumbox Panino); Dinosaur cupcake ring and a small sharp knife.
