Bananas & Custard Ice Lollies
Frozen custard ice lollies with bananas - a yummy summer twist on a classic childhood dessert!
Servings: 6 Lollies
Ingredients
- 500 g carton low fat ready to serve custard
- 1 banana
Instructions
- Peel and slice the banana.
- Carefully stick 2 banana slices, one each side, to the inside of each popsicle mould, then push them down to the bottom with your fingers or a popsicle stick.
- Cut open the custard carton and pour or spoon custard into each popsicle mould, filling them to about half way up.
- Add 2 more banana slices to each mould then top up with the remaining custard, taking care not to overfill.
- Place the lid on the mould and press the popsicle sticks into place. Place the mould into the freezer for 2-3 hours or overnight until the ice lollies are set and frozen through.
- Remove from the mould and serve immediately, or place lollies in a freezer bag and refreeze until ready to eat.
Notes
Note: It can sometimes be tricky to successfully remove ice lollies from a popsicle mould. The easiest way is to fill the sink or a large bowl with hot water and dip the mould into the water for a few seconds at a time (taking care not to get water on the top), until the ice lollies slide out easily.
