Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 slices ham
  • 2 cheese slices
  • 6 baby plum tomatoes
  • 6 cheese pearls*
  • 12 candy eyes

Instructions

  • Start by slicing the bread into small squares, approx 2cm in size.
  • Cut each piece of ham into three strips.
  • Thread two pieces of bread onto a plastic skewer.
  • Roll up a strip of ham and push it onto the skewer too, then top with another piece of bread.
  • Repeat with five more skewers.
  • Place one slice of cheese on top of another and use a mini circle cutter to cut six cheese circles. Thread a cheese circle onto each skewer.
  • Using a small sharp knife, cut one end off each baby plum tomato. Push the tomatoes cut side down onto the skewers to form Santa 'hats'.
  • Top each skewer with a cheese pearl for the pom pom.
  • Finish each of your Santa sandwich skewers with two candy eyes, popped on top of the rolled ham slice. You can 'glue' these in place with a little cream cheese, mayo or hummus if you like.
  • Serve immediately

Notes

*I found mini goats cheese pearls in the supermarket that were perfect for this recipe, however if you can’t find them, try cutting up small pieces of mozzarella or pipe on little dots of cream cheese instead.
