- 40 g rolled oats
- 75 ml water
- 50 g frozen berries
- drizzle of maple syrup or honey (optional)
To serve:
- ½ apple
- 100 g vanilla yogurt or dairy free equivalent*
- small handful fresh or frozen berries
The night before you need them, place the oats and water in a large cereal bowl and stir to combine. Top with the frozen berries and a drizzle of maple syrup or honey (if wanted). Cover and place in the fridge to soak overnight.
When ready to eat, grate the apple and stir it into the bowl with ¾ of the vanilla yogurt.
Mix well to combine, then serve with the rest of the yogurt and a small handful of berries on top.
To make this recipe dairy free, substitute the vanilla yogurt for a dairy free version – soya or coconut yogurts work well. You can also make this recipe gluten free by using gluten free oats.
As well as changing the fruit used, you can also change the yogurt favour – have fun with it and experiment with different combinations to keep breakfast interesting!
