  • 2 large apples
  • 3 Tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • homemade Halloween coconut sprinkles
  • edible candy eyeballs

  • Cut the apples horizontally into round slices around 1cm thick.
  • Using mini bento cutters or a sharp knife, cut the core from each apple slice.
  • Spread each apple slice with a layer of peanut butter.
  • Sprinkle with homemade Halloween coconut sprinkles. I used all four colours (green, orange, purple and black) but you can use any colour(s) of your choice.
  • Finish the monster donuts off with a sprinkling of edible candy eyes.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Note: This recipe should be served as soon as possible after making, but if you make them for party food where they may sit for a little while before eating, the apple slices should be dipped in cold water with a little lemon juice immediately after cutting to help prevent browning. Dry them off on a piece of kitchen paper before spreading with peanut butter.
