Easy Pea & Mint Houmous

This simple pea and mint houmous is sweet and mild so perfect for kids. Serve it up with a platter of crunchy vegetables for healthy snacks or party food.

  • 200 g peas - frozen or fresh
  • 210 g tin chickpeas
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • handful fresh mint leaves
  • salt & pepper to taste


  • If using frozen peas, defrost them in the microwave or blanch them in a pan of boiling water for 1 minute, then drain immediately.
  • Place all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
  • Blend together until the houmous is at your required consistency - you can leave it a little chunky or whizz together until smooth.
  • Serve garnished with an extra drizzle of oil and a sprig of fresh mint.


Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
